Uma Tabela de Marés é praticamente indispensável. Para obter a luz do pôr-do-Sol sobre o espelho de água escorrida na areia, procurei aqueles períodos de três dias seguidos em que a baixa-mar ocorre perto da hora do ocaso, e as alturas do ano em que a maré nesses períodos mais vazava. Mas mesmo assim, não existem garantias que o mar não tenha levado a areia e esta agora se encontre com declive acentuado, possibilitando apenas imagens como as das páginas 44 e 45. A areia levada para outro lado pode ter coberto completamente as rochas revestidas de algas, não se podendo repetir as imagens como a da página 27. Tudo isto amargamente testemunhei.

A tide table is practically indispensable. In order to obtain the light of the sunset over the mirror of water running over the sand, I looked for those periods of three days in a row in which the low tide occurs close to the hour of sunset and for times of the year in which the tide is lowest. But even so, there are no guarantees that the sea will not have moved the sand so that it now has a steep slope, making possible only images such as those on pages 44 and 45. The sand moved to the other side may have completely covered the rocks dressed with seaweed, making it impossible to repeat images such as that on page 27. All of this I have bitterly witnessed.

"...mesmo que não soubesse que tinha formação em biologia, ao ler o livro Cabo da Roca dá para perceber que foi escrito por alguém com conhecimentos nessa área. Quero aplaudir o autor pela forma simples e directa como apresentou o texto mesmo para leigos. Já conhecia o livro dos escaparates das livrarias só que ainda não o tinha comprado. Ao adquiri-lo no curso (de Fotografia) ainda fiquei com a autógrafo do autor. Valeu a pena esperar. Agora resta saber para quando o próximo livro."
